Lily is awake and making some adorable faces!

Hurray for Naked Baby!

Lily is about to wake up for her next feeding.. But I wanted to get one more blog post in.. Grandma McLaughlin gave her a bath yesterday and I couldn't resist sharing a cute naked baby photo with you! Heheh!

Scott holds a newborn!

The pic says it all! Scott, Emily's boyfriend held his first newborn on Monday evening! Good job Scott!

Lily meets her cousins and Aunt Lisa!

Lily's due date was yesterday March 30, 2010. We can't believe that she is already 18 days old. We feel so blessed to have this little girl in our lives. She is still super sleepy but we are assuming that will change pretty soon. She makes fun noises through out the day and entertains us with all of her different squeaks. Yesterday I went to (selfishly) get my hair done... so Lily and Grandma McLaughlin met up with Annabel, Sophie and Lisa in Santa Monica. They are here on vacation. They had a wonderful visit.. taking turns pushing her stroller and feeding her too. The highlight of the day was her umbilical cord falling out in their hotel room, hah hah hah! Annabel was surprised by the "tushy burps" that our Lil' Fisher makes after a feeding. Hah Hah Hah. So happy Lily got to meet them! She loves them so much!

I will stop with my daily posts of Lily. I promise. But I had to show you all this pic of her outfit. Because it was this blog that inspired it! Happy Wednesday to you all. It is Wednesday right? All the days kind of run together lately :)

A video from Lil' Fisher!

Happy Tuesday from Lily!

Our days have been filled with lots of eating, pooping and sleeping. But they are quite enjoyable! Grandma McLaughlin has been such a big help...And Dad too! He is a pro at swaddling.... best technique ever! Lily is a happy girl and that has made the transition into parenthood a lot easier than either of us ever imagined!

Sunday Hello!

Lily wanted to say a quick hello to you all.
Hope that you guys had a wonderful weekend. We did. We went on some nice walks in the neighborhood and giggled at the faces our sweet girl makes. She is filing up our hearts!
Lily is wearing a special custom onesie made by Mom's dear friend Rachel Papantanokis.
Thanks Rachel!
See how Rachel drew a gorgeous lily flower! What an artist!

Thumbs up for Lil' Fisher!

Hurray! Today sweet Lily is 1 week old. And we got to celebrate because she no longer needs to be under the BiliBlanket. Her levels dropped again and went from 19 to 13. So she is in a safe zone now. We are happy about that. We got out and took a walk today and it felt good to get some fresh air with our sweet girl! Happy One week old birthday Lil' Fisher!

Update on Little Fisher

Nurse came today and took blood and we got results back. Her levels went down from 23 to 19. Still high, but its great news to see that they dropped 4 pts. She also gained 2 oz since yesterday. She still has to stay under the lights for a while. Tomorrow we go back to the hospital for more blood work and will hope for more positive results. She continues to sleep through the day soundly and simply be her adorable self. Can't wait to hold her in my arms again without that neon glow!

Lily in her BiliBlanket

Lily had her first pediatrician appt today. He is a great doc and we are excited he will be caring for Little Fisher. She is healthy and strong and we are so happy for that news.. Unfortunately...Today we learned that Lily has lost 10% of her original body weight and so we need to make sure she starts to gain some weight. We will have to give her some formula now along with breast milk so she can bulk up. We were sent to the hospital after her appt for some blood work because Lily has been looking pretty yellow and it concerned the doctor... Results came back and our little girlhas a pretty bad case of jaundice. It is very common in newborns and easily treated. So tonight she started photo therapy at home using a BiliBlanket. She is our little glow worm. So sad to see her glowing from the bassinet. But we are hoping that it is only for the next day, she must stay under the blankets for the next 20 hours. A nurse will come to our house in the morning to draw blood to see if her levels get better. If they do no more phototherapy. So we will just have to wait and see. She has been such a good sport today. And despite today's ordeals she still managed to crack a big sideways smile a few times today that filled up our hearts. Get well soon baby girl. We love you.
Here is a pic of our little glow worm.

Adventures on the outside!

Mom's back and blogging! I am feeling pretty good, a bit tired and a bit beat up but I will not complain. Having this adorable little girl in my arms is the most amazing feeling I have ever felt. And quite honestly I don't have the right words to express how I truly feel.

We are amazed at how content Lil' Fisher has been in her bright new world. She is so happy being held by all of our family and friends. We all are feeling the love!

We have already taken hundreds of photos... but here are just a few. We have loved the past 27 hours of life with Lily. She is so sweet and snuggly. Enjoy... we sure are!

HELLO WORLD!!!

She's here!!

Lillian Teresa Fisher
6lbs 2oz. 19.5 inches long.

Megan did a fantastic job. Baby is healthy and looks just like her mother. Lily has more hair than Dad ever had.
We are overjoyed!

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN

Sat 12:40pm

I guess when the water breaks things speed up. After being 2-3cm dilated for half a day, Megan has moved to 7cm in about two hours. Contractions are picking up in intensity (listen to me... what do I know about contraction intensity) and the baby is creeping towards the light.

WOAH!!!! BIG UPDATE!
Nurse just gave exam. 10cm. Pushing within the hour.

DID I SAY WATER HASN'T BROKEN?

Sat 10:02am

Just as I was hitting 'SEND' on that last post, Dr. Pushkin arrived and decided to speed things up. She broke Megan's water and we've seen some good contractions since then. Doc prescribed rest for Megan so we're letting her nap for a good while.

I should tell you that the reason why we are here 2 weeks early, the hypertension, is no longer a problem. All her blood pressure readings have been nice and normal.

Sweet dreams, Meggie.

Morning Has Broken... Water Has Not

Sat 9:23am

We got a few hours of rest last night. Megan and Lily are doing good but things are moving slowly. Not a problem, just nature taking it's sweet time. The nurses are guessing the baby will come some time this evening.

Megan's Dad just arrived, her Mom is on the way tonight and Emily will be over shortly. We've gotten so many texts, emails and phone calls from family and friends. We're feeling the love and appreciate all your thoughts very much. Looking forward to a day of catching up with the McLaughlins, relaxing, and playing some Boggle. And maybe even having a baby.

She's not really this sad, honest, just tired.

EPIDUR-AHHHHHHH-L

Saturday 1:25am

Mom Update--
Megan surpassed her goal of waiting until midnight for the epidural and took it around 12:45am. Now the contractions, which were getting tough, are not even noticeable. Megan is relaxing with warm blankets and will try to get some sleep.

Baby Update--
Our nurse, Sheila, has been raving about Lily's 'perfect numbers' all night long. Heart rate and other vitals are just great. Nice job Baby Girl!

Talk to you after some sleep.

So Unfair

Friday 9pm

Dinner time.

Dad's Meal--

Mom's Meal--

Only clear liquids and Pitocin for Megan until baby is born. Then it's champagne and cupcakes!

Megan's doing great. Trying to stay comfortable as the contractions are a little stronger. No epidural yet but that's still the plan. She'd love to walk around and sit on the exercise ball, but due to her high blood pressure she has to lay on her side.
Keep you posted!

Let the Games Begin!

This post is coming from Tony instead of Megan. She's a little busy right now.

Today started as normal as any other. I was working on getting one of the bedrooms baby-ready. Megan walked Dasher & Layla and went for her weekly check-up with Dr. Pushkin. Doc noticed Megan's blood pressure was a little high so she sent her to the main hospital for some blood tests. The blood tests showed that Megan has pregnancy induced hypertension. It's very common, especially in first time pregnancies, but it means that the baby should get going and come on out. The baby is fine. Megan is fine. But it's time to get this party started.

So here we are, in the hospital, Megan, Emily, myself and a hilarious delivery nurse named Gregg. Megan has started taking Pitocin to induce labor, she's hooked up to monitors and is resting comfortably.

Here we go!

Step by Step.. The nursery progress continues

I may be boring you with my daily posts by now.. and if so I apologize. I am trying to find happiness in the small things and right now that means if we get any small thing done towards completing this baby room.. ya'll are gonna hear about it! Hah Hah! Tonight we put together the dresser. It took much longer than the crib to put together but it was great spending time with the hubby and got us even more excited about Lil' Fisher's nearing arrival. Someday soon I hope to show you pics of a completed and put together nursery... In the meantime.. Here is a pic of the dresser!

The Happiest Doggy on the Block

Tonight we watched a great dvd called " The Happiest Baby on the block"
It is an instructional dvd that will give us good calming methods for Little Fisher.
Tonight Tony tried the shooshing white noise method on Dasher.
I think it worked. Tony is gonna be an old pro.
